| Soldier On Receives Furniture and Donation for New Facility BBL Family of Companies provides support to benefit local veterans |
Albany, NY – BBL Hospitality donated truckloads of their gently used furniture to Soldier On’s new Albany County Veterans Resource Center. Located at 55 Heritage Lane in Colonie, the center provides transitional housing and support services to local veterans.
“Part of our mission is to give back to the community by supporting effective organizations,” said Stephen Obermayer, President of BBL Hospitality. “As an Albany-based company, it’s an easy choice when the opportunity arises to support an organization that benefits our community and veterans in the Capital Region.”
The non-profit organization Soldier On has already served 500 New York and Massachusetts veterans and their families through a $1 million Supportive Services for Veteran Family (SSVF) grant. Soldier On provides transitional housing and support services to veterans that includes temporary financial assistance for rent, security deposits, moving costs, childcare, and emergency supplies. Soldier On also helps veterans obtain Veterans Administration benefits and transportation.
“The support and donation from BBL Hospitality will go a long way in easing the transition for veterans in the Capital Region and also to make sure these veterans have the best services and opportunities available to them,” said Soldier On Chief Executive Officer and President John Downing.
The furniture donated was made available by recent renovations of the Residence Inn in East Greenbush, done by BBL.

| The Charleston Gazette has been closely following the work on BBL Hospitality's newest property in Charleston, WV |
"BBL Carlton of Charleston, an affiliate of BBL Hospitality, began the renovations, which are on schedule, in September. The full-service hotel plans to renovate the lobby, guest rooms, meeting rooms, and all public areas.
BBL Carlton just recently moved its Charleston office from the Huntington Bank building to the hotel's second floor at 600 Kanawha Blvd. E. -- the first floor of the hotel to be completely renovated.
"The next renovations will start on the 10th floor, and workers will work their way down to the subsequent floors." said Keith McClanahan, senior vice president of BBL Carlton. "The 11th floor will not be renovated until they see how much of a demand the 12th floor condos will have." Obermayer said. The hotel will remain open for business throughout the entire renovation process, which is expected to take 18 months."
